Minimally invasive surgery is a surgery aimed to minimize the area of interference in the body and the degree of tissue trauma. The main techniques using for minimally invasive intervention are laparoscopic (endoscopic) surgery and endoscopy.
Advantages of minimally invasive operations: extremely small damage to the body without reducing the effectiveness of surgical intervention, which is achieved through the use of ultrathin suture material and endoscopic equipment; there is no need for prolonged bed rest, since the operations are carried out in the clinic within one day; well tolerated by patients, as there is no pronounced pain syndrome; due to the reduction of the duration of the operation and the reduction of traumatization of soft tissues, a high therapeutic and cosmetic result is achieved.
Special medical equipment is used, such as fiber optic cables, miniature video cameras and special surgical instruments, which are manipulated through small holes. Images of internal organs are transferred to an external video monitor, and the surgeon can diagnose on the basis of the image and perform the necessary operation.
